Where's my free shipping for subscriptions?Updated 4 months ago

If you're looking for this answer, it sounds like you might have missed the email from our founder, Lopa, back in December. You can search your email for "A Timely Note About Our Shipping Policies" to read more but here it is again:

Lopa here, founder of Rasa. Running a business is not for the faint of heart. Fortunately, my heart is freaking strong. But sometimes I have to write emails that contain tough pills to swallow, and this is one of them. I trust you know that I wouldn’t be writing it if we hadn’t been working hard to swallow this pill ourselves over the years!

If you know Rasa well, you know that we have worked incredibly hard to price our products fairly. We buy directly from farmers at fair prices (which means no middleman margin to pay), keep our margins sustainable and reasonable, and give you the best price possible on all of our products.

What you may not know is that Rasa still contains more adaptogens than any other product we know of in our space. These herbs aren’t cheap, especially the premium quality we source. And we are still priced at or below the majority of our competitor’s pricing, per serving. Yes, many simply charge more because they can. This is part of how the world works, and since I started Rasa, I knew I couldn’t live by those rules and feel in integrity with myself.

I know Rasa isn’t cheap—it’s something many of us have to think a little about buying, especially in challenging economic times. But I’ve always wanted Rasa to be as accessible as possible, not just for the elite who can afford it. I know we may not have achieved that perfectly, but we’ve done the damn best we can, and I’m very proud of that—and I sleep better at night knowing that my values and my actions are in alignment. Truly.

Now onto that li’l pill I mentioned. Let’s talk about shipping prices. Excuse me while my blood pressure rises by 10%.
In the last 4 years, our shipping costs have gone up 29%.

7.8% last year alone, and will go up another 7.5% in 2024 with rate increases. These numbers may not seem like a lot, but for a small business where every penny counts, it’s ouch.
Our operations team, led by our diligent resident Norwegian Erik Sirnes, has worked hard to keep these costs down as much as possible. I’ve been truly impressed by the number of times he’s managed a 1% win here and a $.40 win there to help our business be sustainable amidst these rising costs.
And we finally got to the point where we realized we have to actualize this cost to our dear customers.

The Bad News
The bad news is that going forward, starting today, we are going to be charging shipping on ALL orders under $50—including subscriptions.
Please, please, please, for the love of all that is good and holy, do not email my customer care team and yell at them for this. If you want to yell at someone, you can write me directly, and we can have a conversation (but also I have enough on my plate, so please consider if maybe yelling just isn’t the answer). But my customer care team has nothing to do with this, and frankly, it’s out of our hands, too—we are simply at the effect of rapidly rising costs in an inflationary economy.
OK, enough talk about yelling because, y’all…

There’s Good News!
You can still get free shipping on subscription orders as long as your order is over $50.
That’s just 1 more bag of Rasa you’ll need to add to your shipment to get free shipping. Easy. Boom. And you know what’s fab? You can switch to bi-monthly shipments if you think you won’t go through it that fast, and that’s better for the environment, too! Win-win-win is my favorite game to play.
And there’s other good news because our free shipping threshold used to be $75, and now it’s $50 🎉
Here’s what you can do if you’d like to keep your free shipping perks:
  1. Go to your portal
  2. Add another bag (or two) of Rasa to your subscription or swap to a 2lb bag
  3. If you want, adjust your shipping time
  4. Enjoy your free shipping!

Two Easy Ways to Keep Your Free Shipping:

Add a bag or swap to a 2lb back and change your frequency to keep your shipping free!

if you’d still like some help, that’s what my customer care team lives for. Just reply to this email (remember, no yelling), describe the change you’d like to make, and they’ll be happy to help out. They’re geniuses at finding ways to meet our free shipping threshold in a way that works for you. So go ahead, try that new Rasa you’ve been wanting to try, and have a little compassion for businesses in this challenging economic climate. Take heart in remembering that you’re doing a good thing for your body, for farmers, and for the earth when you drink your morning cup.

💛,

Lopa
